Jessica Haxhi

World Languages New Haven Public Schools (CT)

Jessica Haxhi is the Supervisor of World Languages in New Haven Public Schools where she oversees 6 languages and 90 teachers. She taught PreK-5 Japanese for 20 years in Waterbury, CT. She is past president of AATJ, served on the board of NECTFL, and teaches methods courses at Southern Connecticut State University. She served on the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements Revision Task Force. Jessica is currently President-Elect of ACTFL.

The National Foreign Language Center (NFLC) is a unit of the University of Maryland. For more than three decades, we have focused on partnerships with educational institutions and organizations, governments agencies, organizations, and individual scholars and policy makers. Our primary means of realizing our mission is through strengthening people’s knowledge of world languages, especially those less commonly taught in the United States.
