Marta Silva is a Spanish teacher with a passionate focus on heritage education. She grew up in Spain, where she graduated with a B.A. in Linguistics and with an M.A. in Translation and Culture. She began her teaching career in 1997, and with her contact with the Latinx community guided her towards the field of heritage education. She is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction and Latinx Studies at the University of Kansas City, MO. Marta Silva is also an active member and poet in KC’s Latino Writers Collective.
